Who’s this Klanger? An Interview with Wolke Lijftogt

Wed Feb 28 2024

We’d like to introduce you to Wolke, our amazing financial analyst here at Klang! Today we chat with him about his Klang story, his love for dance (yes, we have a lot of dance lovers on our team!), and why he is happy to call Berlin his home.

How did you find your way to Klang?

My journey to joining Klang started in 2022 when I was unexpectedly laid off from a different startup I was working at. It was a tough time, but it was then that Klang reached out to me. Back then, the job market was quite different. I had a lot of companies reaching out to me, but I was particularly drawn to Klang. I've always liked working in a creative environment, especially in smaller companies where you get exposed to a lot of new stuff. Plus, I was eager to be part of a diverse and international team, which is exactly what I found at Klang. When I visited the office, I immediately felt a good vibe, and that sealed the deal for me.

What is your favorite part of working as a Financial Analyst?

What I love most about being a Financial Analyst is the fact that I get to watch the story of SEED unfold before my eyes. I’m excited for the future to materialize, especially because helping Klang get to this point has been very rewarding. As a Financial Analyst, I'm focused on preparing the company for what’s to come financially. It's a cool role because there's always something new and exciting on the horizon, which keeps me motivated and engaged. I can’t wait to see how the SEED story will compare to all our scenarios.

What excites you most about SEED?

I really like that SEED is a social game. I think it is unique in the way that it's a game centered around collaboration and building a society together. It's not just about individual success, but about how we can work together to establish something greater. The ambition behind the entire project is also inspiring to me. I appreciate that the focus isn't solely on business decisions, but on doing things the right way. There's a genuine dedication to creating value for our customers and prioritizing their experience, which I resonate with.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I spend a lot of my free time being active. I enjoy running, hitting the gym, and playing sports like Padel. I also love dancing. I like exploring different styles and recently started salsa dancing. Dancing, in all its forms, allows me to reconnect with my body after a long day at work and serves as an outlet for relaxation and self-expression.

What’s your favorite part about living in Berlin?

My favorite part about living in Berlin is the sheer size of the city and the unique character and vibe of each neighborhood. It's like each neighborhood is its own village, each with its own distinct personality. The city's vastness means that there are countless opportunities for different experiences. Plus it is also very culturally rich. I also love Berlin's diversity and the fact that there are lots of international people from all over.
